Permit Imprints

Postage imprints—sometimes referred to as “permit imprints” or “indicia”—are printed in the upper right corner of a mail piece. A convenient alternative to postage stamps and metering, they may be used for large First-Class and Standard A mailings and on other qualified bulk mailings. They may not be used on single-piece mailings.

Mailing & Return Addresses: Letterhead, return addresses on envelopes, business cards, and other similar materials should use “University Park, PA 16802,” which is the official city, state, and ZIP Code for University mailing and return addresses. The USPS requires postage imprints for all classes of University bulk mail to read “State College, PA,” but this reference to “State College, PA” pertains only to postage imprints for bulk mailings.

Mail Piece Design: Please fax a preliminary version of your mail panel design to 814-863-4914 for review by our mail technicians. We will respond within one business day.
